Obituary of Christopher Ford

"Family was everything to me. Dad, mom, Jennie and Sandi, I loved you all so very much. Justin and Jessica, you were my greatest joys. My face lit up every time I spoke of you. I was so proud to be your dad and to watch you grow into the amazing young adults you have become. Cindy, my life changed for the better when I met you. My life was complete. I was truly blessed." It is with sadness that the family of Christopher "Chris" Ford announces his passing at Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the age of 54. Born in Norris Point, NL, on February 22, 1967, he was the husband of Cindy Ford of Oromocto, NB. In addition to his wife, Cindy, he leaves behind his children, Justin and Jessica Ford; parents, Ivan and Jean (Shears) Ford; grandmother, Rebecca Keats; sisters, Jennifer Ford and her partner Brent Horner, Sandi Ford and her wife Freeza Khurshed; nephew, Isaac Horner; furry friend, Guinness; and a large extended family. Chris was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Mabel and Stewart Shears; parents-in-law, Kevin and Patricia (Lee) Kane; and furry friends, Goober and Gizzie. Chris was a blessing to the people who knew him. He loved life and embraced it, being grateful for what he had and teaching others to do the same. He saw the good in other people. Chris’s wife Cindy and his children will remember him as a wonderful husband and father and they are so proud to have had him in their lives. He was the center of their world and they adored him as much as he adored them. They are heartbroken he is gone too soon but grateful for the memoires he has left. Chris was a big teddy bear with a devilish smile that lit up a room and the world needs more people like him. The military held a special spot in Chris's huge heart. He proudly served 30 plus years and felt privileged to wear the uniform every day. Chris loved to talk, as everyone knows, and he was thankful for all the friends he made during his military career. Our family would like to thank everyone who held a special place is Chris’s heart: Joel and Rose, you were his go to family when he was on IR in Ottawa. You welcomed him into your home so he would not be alone. Joel, I don't know what Chris would have done without you. You are an amazing friend and we can't thank you guys enough for taking care of him. Always remember Chris loved you as a brother. Bob and Tina, you already know about how much you meant to Chris. He loved you both very much and talked about you guys all the time. Dean and Heather, Dan and Bonnie, Gary and Lori, thank you all for the support and love but most of all your friendship over the years. As for his many other friends, know that he cherished you all. There will be no services at this time. For those who wish, donations in Chris’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Rest my love and worry no more. The kids and I will take care of each other just as you would want. You will always be in our hearts. Love always and forever, Cindy, Justin and Jessica.
