Bob and Lori Fitt posted a condolence
We are very saddened to hear about the passing of Robie - he will be greatly missed. Two weeks ago Robie called me just to talk and say hi. Lori answered the phone and when he asked if Bobby Fitt lived here, in his very distinct voice, she immediately knew who it was. I am so glad he called. I have many memories of Robie while growing up. I remember fishing at Mill Stream to working at the custom mill that sat between our house and Robie's. On our last visit home, Robie gave Lori and me one of the first boards cut from the mill (French Lake Lumber back in the 1970's) that I used as frame matting. With each frame I give a detailed story of the board and how it came to be as retold by Robie. I remember one day when my dad and Robie were doing some maintenance at the mill. Dad was under the carriage having some problems using a crescent wrench to do a repair. Dad came out with bloody knuckles and threw the wrench as far as he could into the woods never to be found again. Robie asked, "did you enjoy that?" Dad said, "yes and why do you care?" Robie said, "well partner...that was my wrench!" We all had a great laugh. We have many great memories of Robie and will miss him. Bob, Lori and Meaghan.

Robie you were one of a kind! I didn't get the chance to meet your wife but you talked about her anytime I seen you. In heaven is where she waited for you. My heart was sad hearing the news of your passing as you had and always will have a special place in my heart! The sad tears turned happy knowing you are with your wife again. I'm sad I didn't get to say bye but my memories of you will always be there. You were always down to have good talks that turned into laughs and welcomed me with the biggest hugs. Gentle giant , I'll miss those hugs. My condolences to your family. I'm glad I got the chance to know you Robie %uD83D%uDC99

So sorry to hear about your Dad. Lots of fond memories of him. he owed a camp with my Dad Jim Dempsey, Jim Breau, and George. He was always so much fun. and he always had treats for my boys when they were small. Oh and that potato gun that he made..My sons Scott and Shayne just loved that thing. We always had to bring potatoes with us if we went up the lake road..just in case Robe was there. Our deepest Condolences to Cindy and Bruce and all the rest of the family..He will be missed my many.

I want to send my condolences to the family of Robie. I first met Robie when i started working at the pharmacy in 2003. I absolutely adores his love for Joyce and how well he looked after her. When she passed my heart hurt for him and thought of him often. He made many visits to the pharmacy over the years and was always greeted with his kindness. I loved having a conversation with him each time he came in. I always told him his voice sounded like the narrator on the ford and dodge commercial and he would always have a laugh. I would say to everyone working 'doesnt he sound like that guy on tv?' He was a great man and put up a good fight after falling ill a few years ago but that didnt stop him. I was quite worried about him for awhile. Im so saddened to hear of his passing and will always remember his voice and chats. RIP Robie

To Robies family, I am so sorry for your loss. There are no words to lessen the pain but know we care. When he came to the family reunion here in 2012 was the first time I met him and you Cindy. I wish I could have had more time to talk with you all. I'm sending hugs to Cindy, Gord, Jacob and his son Robie Bruce and family. My deepest condolences. Love from Gladys and family in Manitoba.
