Obituary of John Lawrence Timmons

The family of John Lawrence “JL” Timmons sadly announces that he passed away on December 22, 2024, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He was born on May 6, 1960, to John and Charlotte Timmons in Iserlohn Germany.

JL was from a military family and, as a child, spent many of his summers in Cape Breton Island with his grandparents. He was an avid animal lover and always took in strays.

He served in the military for 27 years as Heavy Equipment Mechanic and served within the Air Born for two of those years. He completed a French Parachute course in France. JL was also a member of the Upper Gagetown volunteer firefighters for approximately 10 years.

On November 5, 1980, JL married Elizabeth Wiley, and they went on to have 2 children. The marriage lasted for 44 years until his death.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Elizabeth Timmons; children, Consuelo and Charlene Timmons; grandchildren, Alainna Pleadwell, Braydon Pleadwell and Leliana Gorey; sister, Elizabeth Barns, and nephews, Micheal and Jamie Barns.

A Funeral Service will take place on January 3, 2025, at 11:00 am AST at the Oromocto Funeral Home, led by Greg Geldart. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to a local SPCA, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
