Obituary of Bernard "Bernie" McLaughlin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard “Bernie” McLaughlin on January 22, 2024, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on October 15, 1958, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Rose (Doucette) McLaughlin.

Bernie is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia (Cormier) McLaughlin; children, Vicki, Joe (Bonnie) and Denny McLaughlin (Katelyn LeBlanc); grandchildren, Kayla, Colby, Dylan and Chloe; great grandchild, Ellie; siblings, Gerard (Lucie), Lucie Durepos, Wilbrod (Sylvie), Ginette (Normand) Doucet, Hermel (Ginette), Marcel (Helen), Gilbert (Francine) and Gildard (Janet), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Bernie was predeceased by his siblings, AJ, Lloyd, Maurice, Clifford and Carmelle Renouf.

Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Saturday and Sunday, January 27 and 28 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11 am, with Rev. David Fulton as celebrant. Interment will be held at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Bernie’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
