Obituary of Sherman Otis Lyons
It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Sherman Otis Lyons on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on September 23, 1949, in Carral’s Crossing, he was the son of the late Clarence and Frieda (Lezer) Lyons.
Sherman was a pillar for the Sacobie family. He brought everybody together and was greatly loved. He loved his children, grand children and great grand children dearly. He was someone with drive and determination and always got things done. He loved to joke around and was always kind hearted.
Taking walks with his big Ole orange cat buddy was one of his favorite things to do. He adored when we would sit in his company to watch movies, when friends would drop by to play cards or take him out shopping and enjoy a coffee. He was all about gathering together on special occasions and adored cooking for his entire family.
Roland John and Daniel were the apple of his eye he raised them like a father from a very tender age and loved them like his own. Sherman touched many hearts and will be missed dearly by all his friends and mostly by his Sacobie family. He may now rest with his beloved wife Mavis Ann that he missed so very much.
Sherman will be missed by his children, Mindy Sacobie and Matthew Sacobie; grandchildren, Roland Sacobie (Chloe), Daniel Sacobie (Alyssa), Terry Sacobie Jr (Brandi), Samantha Sabattis, Lexy Sacobie, JoJo Sacobie, and Sabrina Sacobie, Emery Sacobie, Daxon Sacobie; great grandchild, Waseteg Sacobie, as well as many friends, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Sherman was predeceased by his wife, Mavis Ann and son, Terry Sacobie.
In accordance with Sherman’s wishes, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. A traditional First Nations Ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Orange Shirt Society would be appreciated.
