Obituary of Edward Stanley Thomas Gill
It is with great love and grief that the family of the late Ed Gill, originally of Corner Brook, NL, announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at his home in Oromocto.
Ed leaves behind his partner of 20 years, Evelyn Murdock; his children Heather (Glen) Johnston, Shelley (Jim) Penney, Erin (Adam) Dyker, Michelle (Neil) Gill-Gaudet and Michael (Alison) Gill; his grandchildren Nicole, Mark (Kim), Justin, Alyssa, Brendan, Sam, Lily, Josh, Annie, Will, Neil, Felicity, Emma and Alex; his great granddaughter Arya; stepchildren Dean (Mel) Murdock and Tammy (Gordon) Vesey, and step grandchildren Jessica, Katie and Bradley; his former wife Debbie Eastwood; his siblings Winston Gill, Linda Leonard, Steve Gill and Phyl Smith; special nephew Danny (Dolores) Gill, and many family and friends.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Emiline (Russell) Gill and his siblings Elizabeth, Ed and Marie.
Throughout his very full life, Ed contributed to the community as a member of the RCMP for 35 years and as a Town of Oromocto Councillor and Deputy Mayor. He also contributed through many volunteer roles at the Oromocto Baptist Church, the Oromocto Public Hospital Foundation and Crime Stoppers.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Baptist Church on Monday, June 6, 2022, from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at the Oromocto Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 1 pm, with Rev. Dr. Perry Hanley officiating.
