Obituary of Rose Jennie Ellis
With heavy hearts, we, the family of Rose (Ida) Jennie Ellis (Phillips), announce her passing on 25th April, 2022, in her 82nd year at the Oromocto Public Hospital. She was born on 11 February, 1940 in North Enmore PEI.
Missing her more than words can say are her children Darlene Squires (Dean), Carolyn Ouellet (Georges) and Graeme Ellis (Kathy); her sisters in law Elaine Jessop (David), and Kathleen Linkletter (Graeme); her beloved sister Mary Milligan; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband Melvin, parents and 3 siblings.
She was a secretary and sales representative for Canex 1969-1984
Mom loved her home of Oromocto, belonging to the Ham Radio Club, VE9IDA, Oromocto Pioneer Square Dancing, Sudbury Seniors Club and Lake George Mic Mac Trailer Park.
Ida's favorite activity was a family Sunday drive with stopping at an Ice Cream Parlour, listening to the Saturday Night Hoedown (PEI). She enjoyed her card games with friends.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Doctors and staff of Prince County Hospital and EMS Summerside PEI, Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Fredericton and Oromocto Public Hospital.
As per Ida's request, no visitation or service will be held. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date at the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
