Obituary of Elsie Barton

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Pearl Barton on April 24, 2022 at Orchard View Nursing Home. Born in Cumberland Bay, NB, on December 13, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Eva (Ryder) Barton. Elsie had a very spunky nature that never left her. The staff at Orchard View enjoyed her spunk and wit. She loved the outdoors and animals, especially her beloved cats. She is survived by her siblings Sadie White, Hazen Barton and Dorothy Ferris, sisters-in-law Faye Barton, Lorna Barton and Dorren Smith; brother-in-law Junior Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elsie was predeceased by her partner Arthur Chase; brothers Edward Barton and Basil Barton, as well as brothers-in-law Otty White, Russell Ferris, and Bruce Chase. A graveside service will be held at Cumberland Point Cemetery on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Aubrey Trail officiating. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Oromocto SPCA.
