Obituary of Juanita Marie Allison

The passing of Juanita Marie (Geikie) Allison, wife of Colin Clark Allison of Rusagonis, NB (married October 14, 1954) ocurred on March 9, 2022, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 85. Born in Miramichi, NB, on April 25, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Mary and William Geikie. Juanita was a military spouse, a homemaker, a wonderful cook, and a loving, caring mom. She lived a quiet life and devoted all her time and energy to her family. In later years she loved camping with her family and enjoyed watching the boats from her camper patio. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her husband, Colin, Juanita is survived by her daughters, Nita Coburn (Jim) of Arnprior, ON, Debbie Pothier (Claude) of Greenwood, NS, and Dianne Foran (Rick) of Fredericton, NB; son, Colin Allison (Jill Haines) of Fredericton, NB. Also survived by her grandchildren, Tricia Duggan (Dan), Curtis Coburn (Parsia Hassannia), Jonathan Pothier (Julianne), Matthew Pothier (Ian Muise), Michael Foran (Natalie), Mandy Comeau (Jon), Melissa Burgess (Deacon Burgess), Ashley Allison (Cody Ward) and Kyle Allison; great grandchildren, Carter, Layla, Taylor, Parker, Emily, Connor, Marley, Miles, Camden and Kinsley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheila and Rick Mason, Brenda and Frankie Allison and Frank Bonacci; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Juanita, who was the last surving member of her family, was predeceased by her infant daughter, Patricia Anne Allison; sisters, Ina Walsh (George) and Rita Sutherland (Dick); brothers, Roy Geikie, David Geikie, Karl Geikie (Edith) and Billy Geikie; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anita Bonacci, Danny and Sally Allison and Buddy and Ruby Allison. Our family would like to express our deep appreciation and gratitude for the wonderful care Juanita received at the Dr. Everett Chamers Hospital. A private service will be held. Interment will take place in St. Samuel's Catholic Cemetery, Miramichi, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Juanita's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Lung Association.
