Obituary of Patrick Russell Maddigan
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Patrick Russell Maddigan on December 29, 2021 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on June 13, 1938, he was the son of the late Michael and Nellie Maddigan.
Born in Kingston, Ontario, Pat started his 35 year military career in the Navy as a musician playing the euphonium. He moved to CFB Gagetown where he was the Drum Major in the RCR Band. He played many places and had the privilege of playing for her majesty, the Queen.
After retiring, he started a silk screening and engraving business, Base Graphics, which served the military community for many years. He enjoyed his retirement by cruising the Saint John River in his houseboat, and could often be found playing darts and drinking beer with friends at Minglers. Through all this, he was joined at the hip with the love of his life, Patti.
Pat will be missed by his broken hearted bride of 59 years, Patti; children Melodi, Dan (Susan), Tracy (Gilles); grandchildren Krista, Deric, Cordell, Owen, and Amy; 5 great grandchildren; siblings Donna and Richard as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Pat was predeceased by his brother Michael Barry Maddigan and sister Mary Ellen Hunt.
A heartfelt thank you to the extraordinary team at Extra Mural, the doctors and nurses and the VAC who all helped Pat in his last days.
