Obituary of Cecil Donald Ross Francis

Passed August 26th, 2021, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Hermitage, NFLD, on August 6th, 1937, he was the son of John Thomas Francis and Nellie (Eli) of Newfoundland. Cecil was the loving husband of the late Nancy Mildred (Boyce) Francis. He proudly served his country for 36 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. He started as a private in 1956 and worked his way up through the ranks until his retirement as Captain in 1992, which we are all so proud of. He took full advantage of retiring at 55 and enjoyed life to the fullest with his loving wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed his hobby farm with his friends and family around him. There aren’t enough words to describe what a great man he was! He leaves behind his daughter, Connie Kimberly Francis (James Storey), and her child, Holly Tobin; daughter, Wendy Kathleen Francis-McDonough (Kevin McDonough), and her children, Patrick McDonough and Katie McDonough, as well as Ross Timothy’s children, Tyler Francis and Kayla Carpenter, who will all miss him dearly. In addition to the love of his life Nancy, he is predeceased by his son, Ross Timothy Francis; siblings, Clara, Eva, Florence, Dorthy, Heniretta, Norman, Gertie, Dulcie, Irene and David (Tom). A graveside service will take place at a later date when all family members are able to be together to pay tribute to Cecil’s life.
