Obituary of Vivian Marion Doucette
Mom, Gram, Auntie Viv - Vivian Marion Doucette, age 96, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 17, 2021, at her residence.
She was born October 3, 1924, the eldest of four children, to the late Hazel and Carl Graham. Waasis was where she called home and spent her entire life up until the latter years.
Vivian was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary and an avid reader. She was a fantastic cook, had a green thumb, and loved making quilts - many of which will be enjoyed by family members for years to come.
She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman who worked tirelessly and always had everyone else's best interests at heart. Right up to the very end she was able to keep her sharp wit and sense of humour, and always acknowledged everyone by name to let us know she was still sharp. Even with such a small stature there was never a job too large that she would not tackle. Anyone who knew her would likely agree that pound for pound she was likely the toughest around.
Vivian is survived by one daughter and one son-in-law, Theresa Elaine Warren (John Warren); five grandsons, Rick, Shawn, Jason, Chris, Darrick; five great-grandchildren, Ricki-Lee, Brennen, Purity, Trinity, and Bo; a special companion of many years, Charles Allen; and many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends who will sadly miss her warm smile.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Wallace Vincent Moore; her second husband, William Joseph Doucette; her son Darrell David Moore; two infant sons; her sister Kathleen Boyle; and two brothers Duncan Graham and Leonard Graham.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff at Your At Home Retreat where Mom/Gram has called home for these past five years. Your commitment to her health and happiness has been evident.
Services will be private in respect of Vivian's wishes. An interment and graveside prayer will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to the charity of your choice.
