Obituary of Jeanette May Young
It is with sad hearts that the family announce the passing of Jeanette May (Wiggins) Young of Jemseg, New Brunswick, on October 8, 2020. Born on January 4, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Campbell) Wiggins and wife of the late Manford James Young.
Jeanette’s fingers never stopped. From milking the cows in the morning, to sewing after dinner, she was a leader in all things she set her mind to. The best of moms, she was an excellent cook, baker, sewer, and knitter. She will be remembered for her delicious food, the lovely sweaters she knitted, and all the clothing she made for us, but especially for the love she put into everything she did.
Jeanette will be missed by her children Raymond Young (Cindy), Barbara Belyea (Emery), Doreen Calder, and June Fillmore (Bruce); daughter-in-law Bonnie Young; sisters Margret Morrison (Ronnie) and Joan Gullison (Eugene); sister-in-law Nancy Wiggins; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jeanette was predeceased by her son Gordon Young, brother Frankie Wiggins, and son-in-law Edmund Calder.
The family will hold a private funeral service followed by an interment at the Jemseg Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jemseg Cemetery Fund, the Alzheimer’s Society, or a charity of the donor’s choosing would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Oromocto Funeral Home.
