Obituary of Alan John Williams

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alan John Williams (Willy) at the Oromocto Public Hospital in October 7, 2019. He was born on September 19, 1936. Willy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doreen; 3 sisters, Sheila Slaunwhite and Alice Wind, both of Nova Scotia and Marie Snow of Ontario, plus many nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia. Also very special friends who were with Willy through the end, Josie Dalton, who was like a daughter to him and loved him dearly and John Duff, who was very dear and near to Willy. Willy is predeceased by his parents Selena and Louis Williams, 2 brothers Glen and Louie and also 2 sisters Glenda and Faye. Willy was a very proud member of the CAF for 35 years. He served with the Black Watch and was a past member of the RCL Oromocto Branch. He was a wonderful husband and provider. He loved to go fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and loved playing darts, poker, and bowling. Special thanks to Orchard View Long Term Care Home and Oromocto Public Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Willy. Cremation has taken place with no public visitation. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 will hold a tribute service on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens, with a graveside memorial service to be held immediately following. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a contribution to a charity of their choosing. Always in our hearts, never forgotten.
