Obituary of Linda Kathleen Walton
It is with profound sadness that the family of Linda Kathleen Walton (Oakley) announce her passing at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Wednesday August 7th, 2019. She was born in Addlestone, England on March 9th 1944. Linda was predeceased by her parents Dennis and Kathleen Oakley and long-time partner Wayne McHarg.
Linda is survived by children, Michael Walton (Miluska), Sherri Elms, Darren McHarg (Sharla), and Tracy Sanders (Rick). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Ashley, Kayla, Kristen, Jacob, Stephanie, Janna and Aidan. She is also survived by sister Carole Stevens, nephews Roy (Louise) and Ian (April) and nieces Lyanne (Tom) and Melanie. Also, special friends Leida Holland and Linda Steele-Phillips.
Linda immigrated to Canada at a young age and settled with her family in Oromocto. She worked as an office clerk until the birth of her son, Michael, and was a stay at home mother for many years. She eventually entered the work force again as a CSR with the Bank of Nova Scotia at the Oromocto branch until her retirement. During her retirement she enjoyed working around her home with Wayne as well as watching either the Blue Jays or Maple Leafs. She also volunteered for the Anglican Church of Oromocto on their action committee and with their lunch program.
She was loved fondly by her family and will be greatly missed.
As per Linda’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. There will be an interment at the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
