Obituary of Annette Poole
Annette Poole died peacefully at home on Thursday, April 18, 2019 in her 81st year. Born on the Woodstock First Nation, Annette was the daughter of Oliver and Louise (Sacobie) Polchies. While working in Oromocto she met her loving husband, the late John Poole. They would go on spend the next 56 years together.
Annette is survived by her children, Lizz (Bruce) Meloney, Lynn (Kim) Poole-Hughes, Laurie (Charles) Poole, and John (Christine) Poole; grandchildren, Lynn (Todd), Katie (Marcus), Nic (Erin), Dylan (Ashley), Louisa, Hamilton, and Augustyne; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Lucy and Harrison. Annette also leaves behind siblings, Howard, Barb (Bob), Manzer (Cindy), Pepper, Sally, Dean (Tracey) and Valerie; sister-in-law, Marge; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Theodore, Ronald and Victor; mother-in-law, Bonnie; step-mother, Marie; sister, Anne; sister-in-law, Joan; and brother-in-law, Gerry.
During the early part of their marriage, John was stationed in Europe which left a lasting impression on Annette. They eventually settled in Oromocto to raise their family. It was here that her home and garden became her pride and joy. She loved animals and there was always a dog or cat underfoot. When retired, Annette and John spent many winters in Florida, summers in the Margaree and reuniting with friends during trips to Europe.
Annette possessed an inner strength and grace that made other people warm to her immediately. Her flare and style were admired by many, but family was her greatest love. She will be forever missed.
Special thanks to the Extramural Program, especially Lindsay LaPage, RN; Woodstock First Nation Home Support Workers, Lisa, Paige, Elaine and Amanda; their manager, Samantha McLellan; and Dr. Michael Perley.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2 pm. Reception to follow in the church hall. Instead of flowers, please consider a donation to the New Brunswick Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
