Obituary of Diana Blaney
On April 21, 2019, Diana Angeline Blaney, loving wife and mother of four, passed away at the age of 78 surrounded by family.
Diana was born on December 24th, 1940, in Moncton, to the late Edouard and Marie LeBlanc. She graduated from the NB Teacher’s College in 1958 and went on to teach in Pointe-du-Chêne, NB, Bagotville QC, and the Village of Gagetown, NB. She was a parishioner of the St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church and a long-time member and treasurer of the St. Bridget’s Altar Society.
Her heart was as pure and genuine as they come. Her devotion to her family was insurmountable. She loved any activity that involved family, board games, cards, dancing, reminiscing, and much, much more. She would, and did, travel to the ends of the earth to share her love and tender care with her family.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Vaughn Blaney, her life partner of 58 years; daughter, Barbara Blaney of Gagetown; three sons, Vaughan Blaney of Hong Kong, Michael (Catherine) Blaney of Gagetown and John (Stella) Blaney of Hong Kong; 7 grandchildren, Diana, Lucas Jordan, Mathew, Jasmine, twins Cedric and Anakin; sisters, Shirley and Ida; brother Guy, as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Gagetown, on Thursday, April 25, at 11 am. Interment will follow the service in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick.
