Obituary of Joseph Raymond Poirier

It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Raymond "Ray" Poirier announce his passing on March 16, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on September 28, 1931, in St. Louis, PEI, he was the son of the late Solomon and Margaret (LaViolette) Poirier. Survived by his beloved wife Mary Josephine "Josie" (Dugay); sons Brian (Nancy), and Wayne Poirier; daughters Christine Stewart (Ed), Wendy Quinn (Rick Arsenault) and Karen Ellsworth (Lloyd); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Delia Shields, and Sylvia Aylward (Gerald) as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Ray is predeceased by his son Frank Poirier; brothers Leo and Joe Poirier as well as a sister Anita Wedge. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Oromocto Funeral Home from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A memorial mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 11 am with Fr. Charles Udeh as celebrant. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
