Obituary of Thomas Arthur McCaffrey

It is with sadness that our family announces the death of Arthur on February 23, 2019, at the York Care Centre. He was a husband, father, and grandfather. He was the son of the late Thomas and Mary McCaffrey (Holleran). Besides his wife Betty (Dignam), he is survived by his daughter Mary (Ritchie), son Tom, and his loving grand children Matthew and Leanne, Sister Betty Gilbert, several nieces, nephews, and family friends. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Eleanor Brzak, brother Gerald, special aunt and uncle Alexander and Maude Burnett and Farther Arthur Allen, a family Friend and Priest. Arthur was an avid reader and had a keen interest in world and local events. He was a member of the local Knights of Columbus. The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Fraser for his care and compassion over the years, as well as to the York Care Centre staff for their care and support. A visitation will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home, on Tuesday, February 26, from 2-5 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, in Oromocto on Wednesday, February 27, at 11 am, with a reception to follow in the Church Hall. For those who wish, donations in Arthur’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
