Obituary of Thomas George Owens

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Tom on July 1, 2018 at the DECH, Fredericton, NB. Born on August 14, 1957 he was the son of Leo B. Owens and the late Catherine (Hogan) Owens. Tom is survived by his sons, Chris (Alicia), Brent (Tammy) and Kyle; brother, Leo Owens (Marilyn); sisters, Marilyn Acker (Barrie), Sharon Best and Carol Chappelle (Al). He will be missed by five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, John. Tom worked at the Department of Transportation until his retirement in 2013. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Tom especially enjoyed spending time with family. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on the Palliative Care Unit who treated Tom and the rest of his family with the greatest respect. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel, 108 Winnebago Street on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Memorial tributes in Tom’s honour may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
