Obituary of Doug Basil Sowers

It is with sadness that the family of Douglas Basil Sowers announce his death at home on Monday, May 28, 2018, at the age of 69. Doug was the husband of the late Barbara Lynn (Thorpe) Sowers, who was the love of his life and his reason for everything. Doug leaves behind his daughter, Angie Cleven and her husband Frank, who was like a son to him; brother, Marvin Sowers (Joy); his niece and nephew; mother-in-law, Joyce Jones; as well as his good friends and neighbors who were always there to lend a helping hand. In addition to his wife, Barb, Doug was predeceased by his parents, Basil and Mabel (Vail) Sowers. Doug lived a simple life and took pleasure in simple things. He enjoyed hockey, cars and motorcycles, hunting and the outdoors, and the beauty of the river that he loved so much. There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held from Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mary Tingley officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's memory can be made to Children's Wish Foundation.
