Obituary of Doris Elaine Lustig

It is with great sadness that the family of Doris Elaine Lustig announce her sudden passing at Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital on November 10, 2024. Born in McAdam, NB, on July 7, 1943, she was the wife of Morris Allan Lustig of Oromocto, NB.

 

In addition to her husband, Allan, Doris leaves behind her children, Wendy Hart (Bill) of Saskatoon, SK, Heath Weeks of Fredericton, NB, and Trudy Hale (Frank) of Burtt’s Corner; stepchildren, William Lustig of Calgary, AB, Dawn Lustig (Robie) of Waasis, NB; grandchildren, Autumn, Tonia, Aaron, Kyra, Zoe and Mika; great grandchildren, Lily and Cassidy; sister, Florence Colwell (David); and several nieces and nephews.

 

Doris was predeceased by her parents, Douglas and Bessie (McLaughlin) Blair; brothers, Milford, Ralph, Halson, Frank, and George; sisters, Margaret, Mary, Doreen, Addie, and Dena.

 

Doris was well known and a long-time resident of the Oromocto area.  She was a member of the Royal Canadian legion for over 30 years, the Lincoln Lions Club and a long-time member of the Sunbury Seniors Club where she was the treasurer for 10 years. She was an avid card player and will be missed by her many partners. Doris loved music and loved to dance. She loved life! Doris trusted in God’s grace and found strength in her faith throughout life’s journey. She was commonly known as an earth angel.

 

There will be no funeral service by her request, but a celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 19th from 2:00pm-4:30pm at the Oromocto Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ name to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
