Obituary of Joseph Anthony Gatt
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph “Giuseppe” Anthony Gatt who left us on October 6, 2024. Born on April 8, 1980, Joseph lived a full life filled with joy, laughter, and love. He was a man who was best described as a jokester, but above all, loving. Joseph loved his family especially his children above all else.
In addition to his dear mother, Gwendolyn Gatt (John Triolet), Joseph is survived by his cherished wife, Jayme Sacobie-Gatt; her parents, Brenda and Joseph Sacobie; his proud children; Staar and Isaac Gatt; his siblings, Christopher Gatt (Barbara Gatt), Lisa Marie Gatt, Aaron Gatt (Danielle Lalonde), Lisa Marie Claxton, Dillon Gatt; many nieces and nephews as well as cousins, aunts and uncles who will all miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his father, Joseph Gatt (2022).
Joseph was an esteemed member of the Canadian Armed Forces from 2010-2015, where he served as a Combat Engineer. Joe was especially proud of his service to his country, committing himself to service with passion and unwavering dedication. Alongside his professional path, Joseph found enjoyment in many different types of music, eagerly attending live concerts. He was extremely passionate about fitness and health and cherished time spent with his children.
Joseph carried his love of God daily to share the Good Word with others. He was a follower of Christ and his belief was strong. He is Home with the Lord in the comfort of HIS arms.
More than just a beloved brother, son, husband, and father, he was a friend to many, always ready with a joke to lighten their days. Joe was always willing to lend an ear or help out his family or friends, whether that was with advice or any other way he could lend a hand, his compassion for his family and friends was never wavering. His greatest accomplishment and pride were his children, who will carry his loving legacy forward.
His spirit will be remembered in the laughter at family gatherings, in every weight lifted in determination, in each self-believing moment inspired by his guidance, and most significantly, in the love and unity of the family he leaves behind. His legacy is one of unyielding love for family, which will continue to thrive in his memory. Joseph will be missed greatly by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association) or the Soldier On fund.
