Obituary of Randall Jeffrey Taylor
The family of Randall Jeffrey Taylor are sad to announce his passing at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital on August 22, 2024. Randy was born on November 27, 1962 in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Randy will be missed by his wife, Margaret; mother, Lorene “Bunny” Taylor; children, Mandy Taylor-Jensen (Ryan) and Jason Taylor (Melissa); grandchildren, Emilee, Hunter, Camryn, Maddie, and Jase; brother, Rick Taylor, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and especially his beloved cat, Bandit.
Randy was predeceased by his brother, Michael John “Johnny” Taylor.
Raised in Oromocto, Randy and Margaret met in the 7th grade at a sock hop in Waasis Junior High School, and spent the next 50 years together. He loved Margaret and was able to show her by building her their dream home in Geary. The love he had for his family was beyond measure, and he was the best dad, uncle, and even better Grampy to his grandkids, who he enjoyed so much!
He was known for many things: being a good basketball player, his love of fishing, being a hard worker for Flynn Canada for over 25 years, but mostly he will be remembered for his sense of humour which was quick, sharp and risky, though somehow he could get away with saying things others couldn’t. He will be missed dearly.
The family wish to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Connors and the whole oncology department at the Dr Everett Chalmer’s Hospital for their kindness and the caring treatment given to Randy during this difficult time.
A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00, with words of tribute at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
