Obituary of Beatrice Marie Leger

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Beatrice Leger (Bastarache) on August 20, 2024 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 25, 1931 in Rang-Saint-Georges, NB, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Josephine Bastarache (Paulin). She was the wife of Livin Leger. 

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Livin Leger; her daughter, Ginette Schriver (Leger); grandson, Peter Leger; brothers, Alyre Basque and Ernest Bass. 

She will be missed by her children, Pierre Leger, Alberta; Simon Leger (Cathy), Alberta; Line-Lutwick (Peter), Woodstock; and Irene Chiasson (Rejean), Fredericton; grandchildren, Dana, Cory, Dawn, Jason-Joel, Jean Paul, Adrien, Megan, Amanda and Allyson, great grandchildren  nieces and nephews.

She lived in Maugerville with her husband for 60 years. Throughout those 60 years, Beatrice and Livin had a convenience store and an Irving garage in Maugerville. Bea also worked at Cannex for the last years before her retirement. She loved spending time with her loved ones and going to coffee with her friends in Oromocto. She loved camping, traveling, cooking. She loved to cook for everyone. 

Thank you to the staff on 3E for all their special care during Moms stay at the hospital and a special thanks to Phil, Jackie, Molly, Deeta, Gabbie Imen and Greg for their special care. 

A visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Monday, August 26, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 1:00 pm. with Fr. Callistus Abazie. Interment will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
