Obituary of Roberta Gray
It is with broken hearts that the family of Ida Roberta (Nash) Gray of Oromocto, New Brunswick, announce her passing at the Oromocto Public Hospital on July 31st, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Madeline (Sacobie) Nash and the wife of the late Oliver Gray. Roberta was 78 years of age and a member of the Oromocto First Nation.
Roberta leaves behind her only daughter, Kimberly Dupuis (Sam) of Dieppe, New Brunswick; brother, Thomas Nash (Susan), of Burton NB; sisters, Mary Davenport (Dave) of Tracy, NB, Linda Hogan (Loman) of Burton, NB, Theresa McFarland (Darrell) of Burton, NB, Joseph Nash (Diane) of Ontario, and Anne “Pinky” Garrett (Stephen) of Oromocto, NB; granddaughters, Michelle Knorr of Oromocto, and Candace Spencer (Rob Seward) of Oromocto, NB; grandson, Christopher Knorr (Mindy) of Rusagonis, NB; great grandchildren, Brandon Harnish Knorr (Hope), Nicolas Dupuis (Cassidy), Cole Knorr, Mikaya Knorr, Cami Spencer, and Chloe Seward; two great-great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Denver, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Roberta was predeceased by her husband, Oliver Gray; parents, Thomas and Madeline (Sacobie) Nash; brother, Paul Nash; sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Leonard Rogerson; and brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Linda Nash.
Roberta loved to go for drives with her daughter, go out to restaurants, to go thrift shopping, and to play poker with her brothers, sisters, and friends every Saturday night. She loved to play bingo, doing her diamond art, solving her crossword puzzles, but most especially spending time with family.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Oromocto Public Hospital, with a special thank you to Janice in the palliative care unit, for all their kindness and care that they gave to Roberta and her family.
A ceremonial drumming will be held at 100 Howe Court, Oromocto, NB at 2:00 pm and sunset on Friday, August 2, 2024. A graveside service for Roberta will be held on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery, Oromocto, NB, followed by an interment for Oliver at the Gladstone Cemetery in Fredericton Junction, NB.
Donations in Roberta's name to NB Lung or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
