Obituary of Lewis Dubois
Peacefully and surrounded by family, Lew passed away on June 10, 2024, at the age of 82.
He will be remembered lovingly by his wife of 57 years, Shirley; children, Michelle (John) and Shannon (Dean); adored grandchildren, Alexandria (James), Victoria (Jacob), Julia, and Gordon; sisters, Val and Marion; and sisters-in-law, Linda and Sandy (Cyril). He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Lew was predeceased by his mother, Sally, and sisters, Jeanne and Irene.
Lew's devotion to his family shone through in every aspect of his life, whether he was crafting delicious meals, offering a listening ear, or sharing new interests alongside them. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Lew's commitment extended to the annual Terry Fox Run, a tradition he faithfully upheld since its inception in 1981. He especially loved spending time at the cottage where he enjoyed canoeing, immersing himself in books, relaxing to many genres of music, and taking pleasure in the call of the loons.
Lew's passion for woodcarving not only provided him with a creative outlet in retirement but also brought happiness to those around him. His handcrafted creations adorned the homes of family and friends, serving as cherished mementos of his talent and love.
More recently, Lew was blessed to be a part of the Meaningful Connections Adult Day Centre family where staff provided not only professional assistance but genuine warmth and kindness, and friends brought pleasure and comfort to his days.
Lew will be missed most for his contagious smile, twinkle in his eye, caring words and thoughtful ways.
