Obituary of Michael McInnis

The family of Michael (Mike) McInnis are extremely saddened to announce the passing of a loving father, son and brother. Michael passed away suddenly at his home on the evening of 28 May 2024 while struggling with his mental health.

Michael was a devoted father who adored his two beautiful boys, Waylon, 3 and Cooper, 1.  He was a proud soldier who served at Base Gagetown in Oromocto, NB.  Micheal loved fishing and spending time outside with Waylon and Cooper.       

Predeceased by his sister, Samantha, Michael is survived by his sons, Waylon and Cooper; father, Michael McInnis (Havre Boucher, NS);  mother, Wendy (Carlin) Vincent and stepfather, Barry Vincent (Gagetown, NB); brother, Chad McInnis (Edmonton, AB); and sisters, Holly Vincent (Bedford, NS) and Heather Vincent (Halifax, NS).                

Michael has left to mourn untold numbers of friends, many of whom he served alongside of at 4 Engineer Support Regiment as a Sapper and then a Mobile Support Equipment Operator at Technical Services Branch at Base Gagetown.            

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from  4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Oromocto Funeral Home. A service will held to honour and say farewell to Michael at Saint Luke’s Chapel, CFB Gagetown on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow.  Michael will then be laid to rest beside his little sister, Sammy, at Fernwood Memorial Park, Middle Sackville, NS, on Tuesday, June 11 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's name to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family.
