Obituary of Stephanie Joy Elliott
The family is sad to announce the passing of Stephanie Joy Elliott on May 2, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmer’s Hospital (DECH), Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on December 18, 1962, she was the daughter of Annie Davidson and the late George Davidson.
Stephanie will be remembered as a loving wife of 40 years and a devoted mother to her children. She was known for her annual Happy Birthday calls, singing to the recipient, sometimes as early as 6:00 am (or 2:32 pm precisely if you were Jennifer!). Spending time with her family (and being a “cat grandma”) was the first joy of her life. It might be suggested that her second joy was being an avid decorator. The holidays were her time to shine and her home was adorned lavishly, inside and out every season.
When she retired from her career at the pharmacy, Stephanie enjoyed helping out with the hot lunch program at the school on Mondays. She also loved to spend her time gardening, shopping, doing crafts, playing BINGO, and spending time with her friends.
In addition to her mother, Stephanie will be missed by her loving husband, Tim; children, Jennifer (Kyle) and Kevin; mother-in-law, Mavis; siblings, Whit (Brenda), Sandra (Art), and Kim (Billy); adopted sisters Francine McLaughlin, Diane Davidson and Suzanne Gallant; God Children Shawna and Jeremy Gallant; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
As well as her father, Stephanie was predeceased by her brother, John and her father-in-law, Douglas, brother-in-law, Ronnie, and her friend, Mary Lou.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the Cardiac Care Unit and Emergency Room at the DECH for their kindness and caring to Stephanie and to the family during this difficult time.
A visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Monday, May 6th, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Geary, French Lake, Waterville Cemetery, after which a reception will be held at the Geary Lion’s Club. In keeping with her easy nature, the family invite you to wear casual, comfortable clothing, and warm socks!
In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephanie’s name to the Geary Lion’ Club would be appreciated by the family.
