We are very sorry and deeply saddened to hear of Betty’s passing. We would like to send along our sincere sympathy to the entire Burley family. We had many pleasant and fun filled interactions with Betty and Frank over the years when they lived in Victoria. Now it is hard for us to believe that they are both gone but we are so glad that we’ll always have such wonderful memories of both of them to cherish.

Mothers hold a special place in our hearts, their love and presence shaping us in countless ways. The void left by her absence is immeasurable, a testament to the profound impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her.

Trevor and I are so very saddened to learn of the passing of our dear neighbor and friend. We were blessed having both Betty and Frank as neighbors and would often say we won the lottery by having them live across the street. Bettty would often refer to us as "The Kids". Betty was always up for a talk or a laugh....and we have shared many of both throughout the years. Memories we will carry with us always.
David, Pat and all of her dear family whom she always spoke so highly of, our deepest condolences to you all. She was a wonderful woman and now a beautiful angel.
With sympathy and love,
The Kids...Trevor and Sarah McLean

On behalf of my family, Kathy, Michelle, and myself I would like to pass on my deepest condolences on the passing of our good and life-long friend Betty. To her children, David and Patricia and their families and to Luke, John and Susan and their families Betty was a loving and caring lady who enjoyed life to the fullest and will be sadly missed. May she rest in peace. Now for a couple of funny stories, first one about FRANK. FRANK and I met in 1962 when I was transferred from the first battalian Black Watch to the second Black Watch in Werl Germany shortly after arriving I started to play soccer for battalion team and that’s where FRANK and I became good friends. Unbeknownst to us our wives, Marilyn, and Betty went to the same school together in Orville. In 1964 I got married to my wife Marilyn, and of course those days nobody had any money but I had a car. Frank’s car was getting a little old and he needed a newer one and I needed money to get a suit each for me and my soon to be wife. So we made a deal that he would buy my car give me cash upfront so I could do what I had to do and after the wedding he would get the car. Our wedding went well and my in-laws, who live in a PMQ (personal married quarters) gave us their place for our honeymoon. After the wedding, Marilyn went back to the PMQ had a fine evening, but the next morning at 9 o’clock, FRANK was knocking at the door saying, give me the keys to my new car The honeymoon is over.
Next funny story about Betty in the early 80s. Frank and I each bought a caravan and we decided to do the back roads of Vancouver Island which we did and it was a great trip. We had a lot of fun took two weeks but anyway our first night out Betty had some windchimes that we didn’t know anything about that attached somehow to the back of our caravan, and of course, when we went to bed that night, we got a little frisky you might say and the next morning Betty was all giggles and smiles, saying we know what you did last night haha.

Flo & I are saddened to hear that Betty has passed away and extend to Patty, David, their families and all other family members our most heart felt condolences. Our friendship with Frank and Betty goes all the way back to the early nineteen sixties when we were next door neighbors in Werl Germany. I am thinking now of a tenting vacation the four of us took to Spain during that time...what a wonderful time it was. Years later our paths crossed again in Victoria BC when Flo and I spent an evening with Frank and Betty and their close friends, Ralph and Marilyn King. Over good food and drink, many stories of past times were re-told and with each story the laughter became louder and louder. Betty, may you rest in peace as you are re-united with Frank, the love of your life.

John and I are deeply saddened by Betty's passing. She was fun, witty and had the most infectious laugh. We have been so blessed to have Betty and Frank as neighbours. We shared many stories of our families and she always said how proud she was of her family's accomplishments. She loved being part of our grandchildrens lives and they loved her dearly. We will miss Betty very much.
