Obituary of Cameron Clarke Clowater

It is with sadness that the family of Cameron Clowater announces his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the age of 88. Following a brief illness, he passed very peacefully with his wife Joan and brother David by his side. Born in Ludlow, NB, on September 8, 1935, Cameron was the husband of Joan Clowater of Burton.

Cameron also leaves behind his sons, Michael (Kathy), Paul (Lisa) and Mark Clowater; brother, David Clowater; sister, Joy Klein; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joyce Clowater, Allison Mowrey and Shirley Gilks; several nieces, nephews and extended family. Cameron was predeceased by his parents, Darold Clowater and Gretta (Carson) (Clowater) Arsenault; mother-in-law, Vera McKinnon; son, Stephen Clowater; brother, Keith Leroy Clowater; brother-in-law, George McKinnon, and sister-in-law, Dawn O’Keefe.

At the age of 17, Cameron enlisted with the R.C.A.F. and served at St. John's, Que., Cold Lake, Alberta, Bagotville, Que., Marville, France, C.F.B. Chatham, Uplands, Ontario and Summerside, P.E.I. where he retired from the military. After returning to C.F.B. Gagetown in 1976 as B.G.S.O, he enjoyed his civilian life here.

His family was very important to him especially when his grandchildren and great-grandchildren visited.

In keeping with Cameron’s wishes a private family burial will take place. For those who wish, donations in Cameron’s memory may be made to Pine Grove Cemetery in Burton or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
