Obituary of Debra Diane Patterson

The family of Debra Diane Patterson is sad to announce her passing on August 16, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on June 4, 1957, Debbie was the daughter of Doris (McLean) Patterson and the late George Patterson.

Debbie is survived by her mother, Doris (McLean) Patterson; children, Kevin (Lindsay) and Kelly (Maxime); grandchildren, Bryson, Blake, and Hayden; siblings, Doug (Marie-Claire), Carol (Ronnie), Linda (Scott) and Mark (Tobi); as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Born in Victoria, BC, Debbie spent much of her life moving from town to town, from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic, and even Belgium. Eventually she settled in the Oromocto area and had Kevin and Kelly.

A dedicated public servant, Debbie eventually retired in 2022 after many years of service. This freed up her time to enjoy the outdoors, either bird watching, biking or just spending her time relaxing at Grand Lake. When not outdoors, she loved to do crafts and spoil her grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be missed.

As per Debbie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes in Debbie’s honour may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
