Obituary of Eugene Whalen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the late Harold “Eugene” Whalen on August 8^th, 2023, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, with his family by his side. Born on January 29^th, 1939, in McNamee, NB, he was the son of the late Charles and Vida Edna (Stewart) Whalen, and the beloved spouse of Dorothy Lycreta Whalen.

He will be greatly missed by his spouse Dorothy; daughter, Dolores Drummond (Albert); step-daughter, Wanda Tucker (Rex); special grandson, Geoffrey Drummond; step-grandchildren, Eric Tucker, and Catherine Tucker; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Justason; sister-in-law, Carolyn Whalen, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jennifer Drummond; brothers, Robert (Jeannie) and Charles Whalen, as well as a brother-in-law, Paul Justason.

A graveside service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, Oromocto, on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 2 pm. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Oromocto Food Bank or a charity of the donor’s choice.
