Obituary of Gladys Ethel Pharoah

After a life well lived, we the family of Gladys (Walker) Pharoah, announce her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB, on June 24, 2023.

Gladys was born in Montreal on November 30, 1939. She lived in the Oromocto area of New Brunswick for the later part of her life where she developed many fond friendships. She worked at the Public Archives for many years until she eventually retired. She enjoyed bingo at the Burton Lions Club where she was a devoted Sunday player. She also enjoyed knitting mittens and blankets for anyone who needed them, taking bus tours to anywhere and everywhere and spending time with friends and family. She was a former member of the Burton Lions Club and a devoted member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church where she volunteered for their choir for many years.

Gladys leaves behind her two sons, Mark (Beryl) and Lenny,  her three grandchildren, Janie, Jessica and Mitchell as well as her unofficial great nieces, Mercedes and Mckenzie and many kin like family and friends. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations in Gladys' memory may be made to the Diabetic Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
