Obituary of John Anthony

David “John” Anthony, 48, of Waasis, New Brunswick, passed away on June 1st, 2023 at his home. John was born on June 22nd, 1974 in Labrador City, Newfoundland. He served in the Canadian Forces for 25 years and was in the infantry before gravitating towards a trade in the signals as a lineman. John served in Afghanistan, Bosnia, and Kosovo while in the infantry and built a strong brotherhood with his fellow soldiers.

A man of many passions, John loved fishing and riding Ski-Doo. He was also an avid music lover and could often be found singing along to his favorite songs, nearly every day. John had a sense of humor like no other and always put a smile on everyone’s face.

He is survived by his two sons, Tyler and Cody; partner, Tracy, and her daughter Mackenzie; father, Roy; four sisters, Beverley, Debra, Rosemary, and Peggy, and his brother Michael.

John will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty to his country and to his family. He had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 7^th, 2023, from 2-5pm. For those who wish, memorial donation may be made to Wounded Warriors Canada in support of veterans with PTSD, or to the Canadian Cancer Society and their work towards a world free from pituitary gland tumors.
