Obituary of Yvonne Marie Player

It is with great sadness that the family of Yvonne Marie Player announces her passing on Saturday, May 20, 2023 in Fredericton. Born June 10, 1940, at Blissville Parish, Sunbury Co, NB, she was a daughter of the late Glasier and Alice (Smith) Carr. Yvonne was renowned for her baking skills, especially when it came to her homemade bread. She loved to share her baking with her friends and family. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to read and spent countless hours working on puzzles.

Heaven has called another angel home. Yvonne is no longer suffering through the struggles of her mortal body but instead is now in the presence of Jesus, who she loved very, very much. She has been reunited with her parents, Glasier and Alice; sisters, Marion and Viola; brothers, Arlington and Ronald, and her precious great great-granddaughter Kinsley. Yvonne lives on just not on earth. She lived a life fully devoted to her Lord and she is now receiving her reward. Not only did Yvonne live a life for Christ but she also exuded peace. She was soft spoken and matter of fact. She wore patience and wisdom like a royal robe.

Yvonne will forever live on in the hearts of her children, daughters Carla (Ron) Haley and Lori (Tony) Price; sons Wayne (Martha) Player and Mark (Regena) Player; her much loved and treasured grandchildren, Jeanette, Derek, Jonathan, Nadine, Gina, Brent, Brittany, Mitchell and Hanna; many great grandchildren, as well as one great great grandchild. Yvonne was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., Oromocto, NB on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held in the Preston Carr Cemetery, Geary, NB on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Pastor Jack Leaman will officiate, assisted by Pastor Mike Hennessey and Pastor Lloyd Taylor. All are invited to attend. For those who wish to remember Yvonne through a charitable donation, the family has suggested the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Global Missions C/O Capital Community Church, Fredericton, NB.
