Obituary of Lorraine Louise Rector

The family of Lorraine Louise Rector is sad to announce her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 18, 2023.  Lorraine was born February 9, 1936 in Springhill, N.S.

Lorraine married Albert (Ab) Rector in June 1956.  Craig was born April 26, 1958 and Jim was born May 25, 1960.  As a military family, they lived in Ontario, Germany, and Nova Scotia.  Ab finished his career at CFB Gagetown.

Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting mom found her to be genuine, thoughtful and non-judgemental.  Your secrets were safe with her. She was kind and caring.  Mom was a devote member at St. Luke’s.  She looked forward to Thursday’s - she volunteered countless hours at the Thrift Shop.  She enjoyed the group of ladies there.  She was truly an amazing lady.  Family was everything to her and she loved them fiercely.

Lorraine will be missed by her sons, Craig (Kathy) and Jim (Pauline); her grandchildren, Jonathan, Jason, Kailey and Matthew; and great grandchildren, Hannah, Alexander and Ella.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Albert, and her sister, Geraldine, and is survived by her brother Harold (Murriel) and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, March 31, 2023 between the hours of 2pm – 4pm.  In lieu of flowers, mom would love for you to make a donation to the Oromocto Food Bank and/or the Oromocto SPCA in her name.
