Susan Stairs

Obituary of Susan Elizabeth Stairs

Susan Elizabeth Stairs, 66, of Lincoln, passed away suddenly on January 11th, 2023. Susan was born on June 30 1956, to the late Jean and Sholly Doherty.

Susan is survived by Steven Stairs, her husband of 48 years; her children, Amanda Stairs (Daniel), Kelly Arnold (Chris), and Bradley Stairs (Jennifer); sisters, Jeanette Scott (George), Marilynn Kirchgessner (Steve); brother, Tim Doherty (Cindy); sister-in-law, Gail Doherty; her three beloved grandsons, Kyle, Brock, and Liam, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her two brothers, George and Peter Doherty, and her nephew, Jason Scott.

Susan was gentle, compassionate, kind, and very generous. She couldn't stand to see anyone suffering or going without, and she would give away everything she had to help someone. The close friends of her children always knew they had a safe place to go if they needed anything, and she loved them like her own, and she will be missed by them.

Susan also loved animals, especially dogs, and she leaves behind her beloved pal Izzy.

Susan loved being outdoors, and living at Davidson Lake with Steven were some of the happiest years of her life.

Susan was most content when she was in the kitchen cooking as much food for as many people as she could. Cooking was therapeutic for her, and it seems that she felt she could fix all the world's problems by cooking some food.

She loved her family dearly; she was very proud of her children and grandsons, and nieces and nephews. Her relationship with her siblings was very important to her. In them, she found acceptance and support and unconditional love. She will be at peace reunited with her mom and dad and two brothers.

She will also be missed by her dear friends Geraldine and Dawn.

There will be a private memorial service on January 29, 2023, at the Oromocto Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Oromocto SPCA. Online condolences may be expressed at www.oromoctofh.com.
