Obituary of Ernest Gilbert Bonnar

It is with sadness that the family of Ernest Gilbert Bonnar announces his death at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, October 22^nd, 2022 at the age of 71. Born in Upper Gagetown, NB, on May 29^th, 1951, he was the husband of Iris Bonnar.

Ernest leaves behind his children, Sean Bonnar (Jill), Heather Langille (Brian), Lynne Anderson (Todd), Erin Bonnar (Marc) and Joshua Bonnar (Lisa); brothers, Kail, Lonnie and Kelly; sisters, Rosalind, Edith, Gail and Laurel; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Katie, Isaiah, Jacob, Kaleb, Charlie, Olivia, Belle, Torin, and Laine; great grandsons, Walker and Colton. He also leaves behind his children from his first marriage, Jeffrey and Brenda Bonnar; five grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Ernest was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Eleanor (Seavey) Bonnar.

The family wish to say a special thank you to the staff of Extra Mural in Oromocto, especially Viane and Shelley, for the wonderful care given to Ernest.

A visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 26^th, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will take place from the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 27^th, 2022 at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Bob Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Upper Gagetown Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Ernest’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
