Obituary of Gordon Gillam

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gordon “Gord” Gillam, age 68, announce his unexpected passing which occurred at his home on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Born April 21, 1954 in Port aux Basques, NL, son of the late Matthew and Ida (Anderson) Gillam. From listening to good ol’ Newfie music, to puffing away on cigarettes and always a cold beer in hand, Gord clearly lived his best life. He was a simple quiet man who loved to take trips to NFLD, and will always be remembered for his heart of gold and the way he cherished his family and friends. Along with his boys Justin Gillam (Crystal) and Jason Gillam, both of Lincoln, NB, Gord is also survived by his 3 beautiful grandchildren Jordan, Jayde and Lux; brother John Gillam (Emma) of Oromocto and sister Karen Gillam of Quebec; his brother-in-law Jim Currie of Port aux Basques, NL, and several extended family and friends. Besides his parents Gord was predeceased by his sister Lillian Currie. At the request of the family there will be no visitation or funeral service. Fittingly, instead of having a traditional funeral, well-wishers are encouraged to drink a cold beer in his honour. Keeping with Gord's wishes, Gordon will be cremated.
