Obituary of Bruce Douglas Hogan

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bruce Douglas Hogan announces his passing on October 17th, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on March 5th, 1970, Bruce lived a life full of laughter, love, and friendship. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife, Wendy, his daughter, Madeline (Matthew), and his son, Seamus (Brooklyn).

Bruce lived a love for life that was infectious.  He enjoyed a good rum, a lively house party surrounded by friends and family, and a pizza piled high with extra cheese.  He was an adventurer at heart, always eager to travel, explore, and try new foods wherever he went.

Bruce had a true talent for making deals – in fact, family and friends often joked that he could negotiate in his sleep.  Whether it was a business contract, car purchase or one of his relentless negotiations, Bruce somehow managed to come out ahead.  As the co-founder of several success businesses, he built companies rooted in hard work and integrity.  Known for his sharp business senses and his abilities, Bruce could turn any challenge into an opportunity.

Of all his accomplishments, Bruce was most proud of his children.  He took immense pride in watching them grow into the remarkable people they have become. He taught them the value of hard work, honesty, and to keep a sense of humour when life throws curveballs.

Bruce is survived by his siblings, Vicky Gow (Ken), and Gerald Hogan, sister-in-law, Kyla Hogan, brother-in-law, Matthew Roebotham (Julie), mother-in-law, Sandra Roebotham, and several nieces.

In addition to his parents, Ann and Jim Hogan, Bruce was predeceased by his brother, Harold Hogan, and his father-in-law, Scott Roebotham.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses in Oncology and Dialysis Teaching at the SJRH, as well as the compassionate team of nurses at Extra Mural Oromocto, for their exceptional care kindness, and support throughout Bruce’s journey.

A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at the Oromocto Legion Branch 93 on Tuesday, October 21st, between 5 - 8 pm, where family and friends are invited to share memories and raise a glass in Bruce’s honour.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oromocto Food Bank.
